An experienced management and production department backs Axis’ creative team of artists, concept designers, character animators and technical & animation directors. Together, this team offers the flexibility required to produce high quality animations through a huge range of visual styles ensuring that fun is had along the way.
While the statement “every client is different” hardly reeks of insight it is often ignored. At Axis however, we understand that it’s not always a case of one-size fits all and like to approach every project with open minds and eager hands. We know that we’ve got to be different too so whether you’re after a photo-realistic character for your latest game, a cheeky mini-series or a quirky commercial we’ll put together a team who’ll come up with the perfect solution way within budget and on time.
Yes, we’re in Scotland and yes, we know that life is a bit slower here but it’s also friendlier, prettier, healthier and cheaper. And that’s just for starters. We also know that our work sits comfortably with the best of the rest because only the most talented people get to work here, and of course there’s our trophy cabinet where you’ll see PROMAX Gold’s, LEAF’s & New York Festival awards constantly fighting for room with all manner of trinkets and trophies. Most recently, Colin & Cumberland, our language learning series for the BBC, picked up a BAFTA & two Celtic Film Festival awards and our thirty second commercial for transport company, Nexus, was a firm favourite among the judges at this years Roses Design Awards, winning the award for best use of animation.
If success is measured by exposure then Axis are laughing. At this years MTV awards, the film Codehunters, produced by Axis for writer and director Ben Hibon, was broadcast to an estimated 400 million homes in Asia. The epic-short, a gorgeous fusion of sci-fi/western anime has helped raise the profile of not just Axis but the Scottish animation industry on the whole.
Over the past three years the team has built an excellent reputation working with a broad range of interesting and exciting clients both in the UK and overseas. These clients have included Sky, Disney Channel, BBC, MTV Asia, Passion Pictures, Aardman Animation, Sony Computer Entertainment, TBWA and Feref.
Axis continues to push to deliver more compelling and entertaining animated content for our clients and develop our own animated projects as encourage further creativity from our team.
