rm*

rm* makes bespoke signature piece animation and digital content for anywhere there are screens and suitable spaces for projections.

We have made large scale projections for exhibitions, animation for music video and mixed footage for retail space. Using dynamics, colour, texture, a mix of live footage and compositing we draw on fine art, architecture, design, film and contemporary culture to create original and intriguing work. rm* look to mix abstract and painterly approaches as well as compositing techniques to explore a different look and feel. Our aim is to push how animation can be used and where it can be shown.

rm* are also involved with Phil Lavery at the Digital Learning Foundation the creation of large format 3D stereo digital installations.

Debs Norton and Gaylie Runciman are fine artists and graduates from the Digital Design Studio, Glasgow School of Art. They have been working together for two years and in April 2005 formed the company rm* ltd. Debs and Gaylie made the cross over to digital animation because Glasgow School of Art recognizes the need for creativity combined with technical skill, the masters degree in motion graphics welcomes artists understanding that there are ways of using animation that is much broader than character or narrative driven work.

Moyra Campbell joined the company last year, also a GSA graduate, bringing 12 years experience in scientific research and scientific visualizing.
