Flaunt director, David McCue

“Triumphant? The Art of the Deal” will take place on Sunday 4th July 2010 in a farm barn belonging to landowner Michael Forbes, located at the centre of Donald Trump’s controversial golf development in Balmedie, Aberdeenshire.

A series of Paintings, a specially commissioned sculpture, selected correspondence and other artifacts explore the issues and emotions surrounding the anticiptaed compulsory purchase orders of family homes and farmland for the construction of Trump’s £750 milion masterplan.

While viewing the original artwork, you can experience for yourself this amazing part of the Scottish countryside and enjoy a leisurely day out. The event is a “free range happening”. There is no set itinerary. You are welcome to arrive anytime after 12 noon and leave whenever you choose before sunset. The local community will be providing tea and snacks, but please feel free to bring your own picnic and enjoy an afternoon on the beautiful Menie sand dunes. You’re likely to enjoy spotting the resident wildlife: pheasants, rabbits, geese, wild deer and many different types of birds.

It truly is a beautiful place and I hope you can join us to share a unique experience.

The Winner of the 2010 McLaren Award for British Animation

The winner of the McLaren Award for New British Animation in partnership with BBC Film Network at the 64th Edinburgh International Film Festival is Victoria Mather’s STANLEY PICKLE, produced at the National Film and Television School

Victoria’s Film uses a technique known as pixilation, something that McLaren himself experimented with throughout his career, so it’s a very appropriate choice by the audience!
