Am Bocsa makes Gaelic animation of the highest quality, with special regard to artistic and musical values. Founded in 2001, we have made two short films for BBC Alba, and director Catriona Black has played a lead role in two animation-based half-hour documentaries, also for BBC Alba. We specialise in painterly animation, hand-made within a digital context, and in giving our traditional heritage a new lease of life.

Our ten-minute short, Pìobairean Bhòrnais, has been nominated for several awards, has screened in over 50 festivals and cinemas across the world, and is distributed on DVD in North America by National Geographic. We are currently working on a third short film, seed-funded by National Geographic, based entirely on sound from the School of Scottish Studies Archive.
