Iain Gardner is an Award Winning Short Film maker and animator, specializing in 2D animation techniques with over 20 years industry experience. His first break in animation came as an apprentice at Richard Williams’ Studio. After animating at various animation studios in London, including tcv, Silver Fox and Nexus, Iain would eventually direct his first film at TVC, “Akbar’s Cheetah” which was commissioned by Channel 4 through its AIR scheme. This led to the opportunity to direct “The Squires Tale” for S4C/BBCs BAFTA winning and OSCAR nominated series “THE CANTERBURY TALES.”

“THE TANNERY” won best animation at the Celtic Media Festival. Iain has been involved in a diverse range of projects, including Dresden’s Tanzplan for which he animated sequences to accompany a live dance performance, and the BBC Scotland documentary “The Winner Loser”. Iain has been based back at home in Scotland since 2001.
