KEVIN ADAMS AND AMY SCOTT – MURRAY, JOINT SECOND PLACE WINNERS OF THE SPACE-TIME ANIMATION (INDUSTRY, VFX, CHARACTER) STUDENT AWARD AT SIGGRAPH ‘08.

Full of beautiful sound and images, Kevin and Amy’s film Luminous Deep tells the story of a whale’s last journey and of how its remains provide sustenance for many strange and wonderful creatures of the deep. The fabulous light show produced by the bio luminescence of these creatures, adds to the spectacular visual feast and helps create the world of the story.
Whilst the production roles of Modelling, Rigging, Dynamics, Compositing and Effects Animation fell to Amy to produce, Kevin concentrated on Animation, Sculpting and Texturing. Both worked on pre production, collaboration being key to the success of this production as a visit to the ‘Meet The Crew’ link at The Luminous Deep will attest. Kevin and Amy recruited talent on Soundscape, Concept Art, Script Editing & Narration and engaged specialist input of scientific advisors and researchers from Oceanlab Aberdeen. Luminous Deep is a part of the ‘Deeper Than Light’ exhibition at the Aberdeen Maritime Museum until July 31st.
Kevin has now started work at the prestigious Double Negative studio in London.

Both Kevin and Amy gained 1st Class Honours in Animation at Duncan of Jordanstone, Dundee.
JASON WAGNER – PAPERBUBBLE.COM

Jason just completed work on the new micro site for the ‘Wonderbra D2G’ range and the ‘Quote Me’ micro site. The site called for a simple use of flash that compliments their current web site (Wonderbra), while at the same time getting customers to sign up for their latest marketing campaign. I created a flash ticker, animated banners and random sparkly diamonds!
He was also responsible for the streaming flash video player for ‘Nasstar’. A total of six animations were created by Passion Pictures and he created subtitles, controllers and flash video files so that the animations could be played online. This was a technically challenging project and it could lead to some exciting interactive animations in the future!
