Bonnie’s Tale

Selina Wagner - Bonnie's Tale

Over the last few months, Selina Wagner has been working on a short film for the charity, Advocates for Animals. The film was created to raise awareness about the shooting of seals off Scotland’s coast by fishermen. The film aimed to have the same atmosphere as the classic ‘Watership Down’ and Richard Briers even agreed to narrate the film – the voice of Fiver in the original. The piece was launched last week with an article in the Scotsman on Sunday and has caused a bit of a stir. Read the article here

The film is displayed on the Advocates for Animals website where you can also sign a pledge to urge the Scottish Government to provide more protection for the seals in Scottish waters. www.lookoutforseals.org

Research in Focus at RSA

Iain Gardner RSA Show

Iain Gardner is exhibiting work completed with a Bursary from the Friends of the Royal Scottish Academy in Research 2009: RSA Awards in Focus, which runs until the 18th of October 2009.
Iain used the bursary to travel to the Highland Wildlife Park in Kinross, where he observed a pack of 4 wolves, 3 of which now reside at Edinburgh Zoo. He was particularly interested in the debate around the reintroduction of wolves into the Scottish Countryside. The resulting animation will eventually constitute part of a live theatrical performance of contemporary music by Stephen Davismoon in collaboration with the writer Johnny Rodger.
